Welcome to Faculty of Humanities!

Located in a prime business area of Bangkok Metropolitan, Faculty of Humanities is a large
unit of Srinakharinwirot University responsible for offering high quality academic programs,
at both undergraduate and graduate levels. As a home to more than 130 faculty members and
staff, Faculty of Humanities is accountably committed to carrying out core tasks guided by the
philosophy “Gain wisdom and enhance the values of humanity” as well as the vision “An
organization equipping graduates with acceptable English proficiency.” Since the foundation
day, August 22, 1975, an orchestration of the fields of humanities has been moving forward
along with the pathway of rapid change in society.


In addition to offering degrees in various subfields, including languages, linguistics,
psychology, philosophy, children’s literature, information studies, and language education,
Faculty of Humanities is dedicated to integrating research, innovation, educational services
and arts and cultures promotion. Specifically, at present, Faculty of Humanities still plays a
central role in fulfilling an ambition of educating Thai and international students as well as
fostering social betterment.

Academic Strength in Core Knowledge and
High-Quality Research from Theory to Application

Language and Global Communication is an interdisciplinary field which combines research
methods from linguistics, applied linguistics and teaching pedagogy. We approach these topics
from several different approaches in studying global communication, be they in English, Mandarin
or ASEAN language. The research areas intersect and overlap considerably, and faculty and
graduate students are often simultaneously involved in more than one area.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES : graduates will

  • exhibit a deeper understanding in a wide range of relevant theories in the field of language and global communication.
  • Conduct outstanding research in language and global communication and develop research expertise in an area of their choice.
  • apply theories and make connections from theories to application, from research to teaching resulting in innovations and pedagogical practices.
  • demonstrate habits, personality and character of progressive professional development and communication skills as scholars to others to advance their field of study.

LGC724 Language and Technology in Digital Communication
LGC725 Meaning and Communications
LGC726 Psychology of Language in Communication

The remaining 36 credits of dissertation is satisfied by registering each 9 credit for 4 semesters.
